Annie Williams Prize 2019

This year, we are able to award four whole class prizes, three generously funded by John Lyon's Charity and one by us! There are also two individual prizes for children.

The Annie Williams Prize - for the school which integrates drama and that year’s chosen play most successfully across their curriculum. £600 towards a theatre trip + trophy at the House of Lords

The AW Social Media Engagement Prize. This prize is for getting stuff out there. Keep in touch with us on twitter, post updates, get stuff on the school website- get parents involved! Last year several of our schools uploaded wonderful work examples across a range of platforms: films were uploaded to both Twitter and Vimeo, songs were posted on Youtube, and a range of extraordinary artworks were visible on school websites. This prize rewards the same ethos as the AWP, but reflects this aspect of engagement.  £300 towards a theatre trip + trophy at the House of Lords

The Annie Williams Ensemble Prize. As with all our prizes we are seeking to foster the educational values that the charity promotes. We are not interested in creating a ‘best performance’ prize as this seems a) divisive and b) to create a misleading impression about the focus of our work. However, one of the huge benefits of using drama as a teaching tool is the way in which it is able to transform group dynamics within a class, which, in turn can have a profound impact on learning. This prize rewards the class in which practitioners and teachers report the biggest journey in this regard, and we would expect to see this demonstrated in the final performance. £600 towards a theatre trip + trophy at the House of Lords

The Excellence in Engagement Prize- Awarded to a class that has worked beyond expectations in the classroom. The class have exceeded expected levels of attainment and produced stunning work. £300 towards a theatre trip + trophy at the House of Lords

Individual prizes

PSC Prize

Many of the children take this project on in their own time. We have received many examples of children's work which they have done at home- off their own backs! If you have a child in your class who's done this- you can submit it to us- we will select one winner, who will receive £40 of book tokens for themselves and £100 for their class.

Billie Piper Prize

Billie our patron is a great believer in drama helping with confidence at school.  She funds a small award for children who have shown a difference in their character during the project, something that they might not show in normal classroom situations. If this applies to one of your children, send us a little report and a letter from the child. £40 of book Tokens for them and £100 for the class.
