INSET TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

Throughout the year the PSC run training courses for teachers. We run our Transforming Writing Through Drama course three times a year, but can only offer a limited amount of places. We are also available on occasion to run bespoke in-school twilight and day long insets for school staff as well as our set courses listed here. Please contact us if you think we can help at your school.

A three day foundation course for teachers of KS2 run by The Primary Shakespeare Company. This in-depth course will cover key drama-based approaches to learning that will unlock creativity in your pupils’ writing and develop your own confidence and ability to use drama as a teaching tool. Insets will include:

Open-classroom sessions demonstrating the approaches and how they link to the teaching of writing.

Practical workshops which will expand on the techniques demonstrated and show when and where they can be applied.

- Planning and how to apply what has been covered to your own classroom practice.

No expertise in drama is required in order to take part, but participants must be prepared to commit to planning and delivering drama in their own schools during the duration of the course

PSC has achieved noticeable success in increasing the engagement of the following target groups: Boys, EAL pupils, reluctant writers, children who attract the Pupil Premium and others
