Welcome to Act i. Below are plans for literacy, reading comprehension, grammar and punctuation, maths and games. Each subject/activity is related to this act of the play. The literacy PDFs are a whole week (5 days) of fully resourced lessons.

Act 1 literacy deals with writing a setting description of the terrible storm that caused Viola and Sebastian’s ship to sink off the coast of Illyria. The PDF contains a whole weeks worth of literacy lessons including resources. There is also a word file so that you can make any changes to the planning that you need to!

Duke Orsino is in love with Olivia. Olivia is in mourning for her brother who has recently died and refuses to marry Duke Orsino. There has been a shipwreck and Viola and her twin brother Sebastian were on board. Olivia washes up on the shores of Illyria thinking her brother may be lost forever. Viola decides to disguise herself as a boy - Cesario - and tries to get a job working for Duke Orsino. We meet Sir Toby Belch, Andrew Aguecheek and Maria. Viola in disguise as Cesario meets Olivia, what an earth will happen......
